Complete Golf Shaft Fitting Guide - Find Your Perfect Shaft

Choosing the right golf shaft is one of the most important decisions you can make to improve your game. At Pro Golf Shafts, we've helped thousands of golfers find their perfect shaft match. This comprehensive guide will help you understand the key factors in shaft selection.

Understanding Shaft Flex

Shaft flex is the most critical factor in shaft selection. Here's how to determine your ideal flex:

Swing Speed Guide:

• Ladies Flex (L): Under 72 MPH swing speed
• Senior Flex (A): 72-83 MPH swing speed
• Regular Flex (R): 84-96 MPH swing speed
• Stiff Flex (S): 97-104 MPH swing speed
• Extra Stiff (X): 105+ MPH swing speed

Key Shaft Characteristics

Weight

Shaft weight affects swing speed and control:

• Lightweight (40-60g): Increases swing speed, higher ball flight
• Mid-weight (60-70g): Balanced performance for most golfers
• Heavy (70g+): Maximum control, lower ball flight

Torque

Torque measures shaft twist during the swing:

• Low Torque (2.5-3.5°): More control, better for faster swings
• Mid Torque (3.5-4.5°): Balanced feel for average golfers
• High Torque (4.5°+): More forgiving, easier to square clubface
